All of these i've seen, except one, i dont think any of them has kawaii weeb bullshit except for terrarformars season 2, so dont touch that

Attack on titan (dont let the hype discourage you from watching it)
Hellsing Ultimate (the original is slower paced and hand drawn like old beserk so watch the original hellsing if you just want slower pacing)
Drifters (same creators of hellsing)
Hunter x Hunter (Starts happy gets serious quickly)
Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu (its in school setting sometimes but dont let it bother you)
Gantz ( I recommend reading this, the anime is awful)
Mirai Nikki ( I havent finished but it wasnt that bad)
Akira (movie)
Terraformars (WATCH ONLY THE FIRST SEASON, DO NOT CLICK ON SECOND SEASON OR YOU WILL SERIOUSLY REGRET IT PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE THIS WARNING)
JoJos bizzare adventure (its mostly serious but it doesnt beat you into sadness all the time)
Gyo (now i havent seen the anime, but the manga was really good. This is a risky watch, you might waste your time idk)

I've tried both of those and I just can't get past those shit tier protagonist designs. I get the fact that it's "lol, it's actually a genre reversal and even though it seems cute at first glance, it's actually super dark!" but seeing moeshit as a center piece in Anime will never NOT be an instant show killer for me.

Also seen all of the Berserk movies.

You could always try Scrapped Princess, Chaika's spiritual predecessor based on the work of the same author. It's way less moe, and just about everyone is named after guns or gun companies for some reason. Also try Record of Lodoss War for some very western DnD style fantasy.
