This was the first anime to make me cry. Other then that anohana was also able to do it. Your Name also give good emotion but Koe no Katachi was better imo. Angel Beats was also a close runner up but I managed to hold out.

There's no ambiguity between shojo (virgin) and shoujo (girl), just as in English there's no ambiguity between "plan" and "plane"' or "can" and "cane".

It's not a pun, they're completely different words, and yes, long vowels are tricky. It certainly doesn't help that station romanisation gives us words like "tokyo", where the long vowels are just ignored.
