This morning my computer has started crashing. I get a blue screen and a message that Windows had not closed properly. What can I do to fix this? Or do I need a new computer? This one is maybe 6 or 7 years old. Windows 7. Thanks.
Self bumper. Going to start looking at new computers online.

You never need a new computer just because your OS does not work normally anymore. You first look if it is a software error or some hardware is faulty- which can then be easily replaced, you do not get POST errors from your BIOS when booting, right? So the problem can pretty much only lie in Windows or maybe a faulty harddrive it is on so vital data could not be read anymore.
Yeah I'm concerned it's the hard drive. If I get a new drive how do i get Windows installed on it?

If you want your old system you'll have to try to mirror the old disk on another system or via a live system (Linux) as good as it may still be possible.
Else you install the new drive, boot from the Windows DVD, install a new clean system, and from that then access the old drive if possible to pull over what ever may be saveable. As long as the drive still spins up even you cannot boot from it it may still be accessable from outside.
My computer didn't come with a Windows disk. Will I have to buy one? Where else can I get it?
BSoD is trivial unless you get it frequently.
If you get it frequently, download and run malwarebytes antivirus, if that fails, Reinstall OS.
If you don't have a disk, Torrent an iso and burn it to a dvd.
>b-but torrenting is illegal!
No-one cares if you torrent it, But you can use a vpn if you wish.
Yeah I just uninstalled Malwarebytes the other day. I thought it was causing problems with a steam game, but I found that wasn't so. I'll reinstall it. Thanks .
