I'm for the most part ignorant regarding software stuff, but I really need a recommendation for a good, reliable and free audio converter, the ones google gives me as result are either paid, only convert 70% of the audio file or my computer goes fucking nuts with a few malware alerts.

i use formatfactory, which also does video conversions. be warned: it will try to install the Ask toolbar, and you have to specifically tell it "no".

I use Freemake Audio Converter. Plenty of formats and options.
