I have the game. It's supposedly broken down into 3 games: Fate, UBW, and HF.
I'm playing Fate right now. How do I know when to move on? If I just sit down and play through each game to the end, will I grasp everything?
Or are there "bad ends" It's so complicated. I just want to read man.

Pretty much.
Yes, there's a ton of bad ends, but there are comical sequences with Taiga and Illya called Tiger Dojo that help you avoid them the next time you make a decision. Save frequently.

Save at every choice. Don't worry about getting all bad ends, you can go back for them later if you care. You'll know when a route is over.

depending on your download you might get a PDF with a route guide with it. I'd follow that.
Once you finish Fate UBW unlocks, and after that HF.
