I'm trying to track down a very old cartoon I used to watch when I was a kid. I've tried every possible combination of keywords that I could think of, still nothing.
The show looked very decent, I think it was geared towards teens and young adults. The theme was most likely scifi/horror/thriller. It had 3 protagonists, 2 male and 1 female, if I'm not misremembering. The female was also some kind of esper, because in one of the episodes she took control over an army of aliens or undead, something like that.
The episode in particular that keeps bugging me had something to do with a swamp monster. I think the monster grew stronger by ingesting black oil. Also I think leeches played some part in the plot of that episode, but that's where my memory fails me.
Please help.

can you give us an idea of what decade it was from? when someone says "very old cartoon", i tend to think Prince Planet-era, or late sixties.
can you think of any shows with a similar animation style?

oh sorry, my bad, I failed to realise that it's old only by my own standards.
It aired around 10-15 years ago. It was coloured and the art style of the human characters somewhat resembled batman the animated series

Pirates of Dark Water?
