Trying to get a Dual Shock 3 controller to work on a Windows 7 64bit PC. I have tried multiple different options and the SPC Server method does work....some of the time. It is very inconsistent, sometimes it detects the controller, sometime it doesn't. Sometimes the light that normally turns on whenever you plug the controller into anything via the USB charger cable doesn't even turn on.

And yes, I am using a USB cable to connect the controller to the PC; don't really want to spend extra money on a blutooth dongle and then have to worry about getting that to work properly

It's much more straightforward getting it working with Bluetooth.

The pad expects to be connected to a Playstation, and expects Bluetooth will be there.
