So I decided I want to give my old Ipod 5 to my little brother as a gift/nice gesture. The problem is I have a lot of private photos, texts, notes, account info and search history on the thing that I don't really wanna share so to speak. Is it worth hitting the erase all button in settings or would it be better to manually delete things by hand? We do share some account stuff (same apple ID so music and app purchases)

Just erase all.

All you have to do after that is make them their own iCloud account for backup, sync, etc. and enter your shared account in the iTunes/App Store page in settings.
