IOT?
There's probably is no malware readily installed. But the thing with those is that they are generally completely unprotected and therefore serve as vectors to pry into your systems.
IOT is something the sysadmins nowadays hate like nothing else.

Can you explain it like you are talking to a retard?
>>332495
>Internet of Things
Connection of almost anything to the internet for remote access/use/control. Ranges from TV to airconditioning and anything connectable to the internet and can be controlled.
>Mmmmmm... IOT Freezer on wheels
>>332500
this bulb only has a bluetooth connection
>>332506
Doesn't matter.
>IOT device is unprotected, doesn't even need hacking
>You yourself connect the unprotected IOT device to your phone/tablet/whatnot
>Hacker connects to IOT and uses it as a vector to get in your device, hijacks it and asks for ransom.
Using these IOTs is like wearing a full body armour but leaving out a butt plate because of comfort.
>>332510
So can i prevent this by disconecting from the internet making whatever changes i want to the bulb then switching the bluetooth off? Or what i said is just bullshit?
when you try to install what permissions does it require?
>>332513
It's the other way around: You don't ever connect any devices to an unprotected IOT device. Ever.
The absurdity with these is that when people buy these IOT things, they in fact willingly pay good money to totally compromise their own systems security and personal privacy.
>>332516
Media storage and contacts but i blocked the contacts
>>332517
And i guess there is no way i can protect these iot?
Besides not using them
>>332520
Those things are generally not programmable anymore. Unless you physically hack into them and rework the system with added security.
