Is there an advantage in using windows 10 rather than windows 7 ?

Well... Win7 support will be done by 2020.
Other than having updates and patches for new 'vulnerabilities', older WinOS are still good and reliable; XP for legacy support, Vista/7 for simple UI
Security, updates, slightly more responsive. Few enhancements with the interface.
Security, but mostly only if you have a TPM, Enterprise version and joined to domain.
if you play games hardcore it does have really good direct X support. So there is that i guess...

It's faster in certain games and will continue to do so.

(These are old benchmarks, by now there are more titles which run a bit better on Win10 than on 7)
But you need tools like OOSU10 to make it acceptable.
dx12, i think
