Recently my laptop battery burned out, it doesn't smell burnt but i plug it in and it won't charge i tried a recalibration but it doesn't work, so untill i can buy a new one i leave it plugged in, I also play a lot of overwatch and i noticed that whenever the battery is connected the game runs at 15 fps with a lot of audio stutter, whenever i unplug it, it runs smoothly at 50 fps, can someone here at /wsr/ help me ? my problem seems to be too specific for me to find a existing page on other forums.
self bump because i desperately need this fixed before the event ends

Buy a new battery. The reason you get more FPS when you don't have a battery in is likely your power settings and your laptop is willing to run at full power when plugged into the wall.
>my battery doesn't even work in the first place so i have no reason to keep it in the laptop
>also when my battery is connected [bad thing] happens
is there something stopping you from pursuing the obvious solution of just taking out the battery?
in any case your laptop probably has some "power saver" settings that slow down the cpu when it's running off of battery power (instead of being plugged in)
maybe your fucked up broken battery is somehow fooling the computer into thinking it isn't plugged in
try changing the windows power saver settings

Generally they're structural and the laptop goes all floppy if there's no battery at all.
