Ok so I'm applying to be in the Firefighter because I want to slide down poles and get paid for it.
There are two questions that I kind of know how to answer but I need a second opinion on.
How would YOU answer these?
1. The Service has a behavioural framework which forms part of our Service values, can you please outline what the following values mean to you: Treating people with respect; Promoting the wellbeing of our community; Always wanting to get better; Acting in an inclusive manner.
2. How would you approach building a rapport with someone who is from a different age group or background to yourself in order to gain their trust and engage with you? Required, Minimum length: 1, Maximum length: 4000
1. It means that
You'll be there on time.
You'll get ready in less than seven seconds flat.
That you'll always be on the scene.
And your engine will be bright and clean.
That you'll also be the hero next door.
That you'll be greeting people that you meet.
And that you'll hurry because someone might be in a Jam.
2. Talk to Norman everyday even if he gets in the way of your job and you hate him. He's just a child. He doesn't understand. I save people. I'm not some autistic retard going around the town asking for favors and getting in the way. And just because I've felt the urge to throw him in the fire a few times, that doesn't mean I shouldn't talk to him.
That's how I would answer those questions but then again I don't want to be a Firefighter.
Honestly I joke but you might be doing god's work. We really appreciate it.

>what the following values mean to you
that's just a stupid question asking for a generic answer that takes way too long to say "I'm not an a-hole to everyone and I care about the job"
>building a rapport with someone
another stupid question that wants you to reference another time you worked with someone different from yourself
