Elmer's glue has polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as adhesive polymer (4-10% by weight). Borax molecule itself forms a physical crosslinking bridge, pic related.

You can break those bonds by adding acidic substance in the slime, let's say hydrochloric acid.

If you added alkali in the solution after adding acid, you'll get a slime goo forming again.

However please avoid competition cocktails. Make a new batch of slime from virgin ingredients.
