/a/ keeps falling down in quality literally been a normalfag board for a while I saw 2 recommendation threads today and someone claiming Angels Egg is obscure and hard to watch so said anon is watching "obscure" youtube anime when they could easily be torrented.
What are some other places I can discuss anime that is not overflowing with normalfags.

Try other chans but they are usually dead
>>328058
>since inception, the front page has been at any given time 90% shounenshit or moeshit
>just now being bothered by /a/'s developmentally disabled userbase
>>328058
Would QTDDTOTs work at /a/? Then cunningly drop your matter of interest in it.
This tactic has been successfully deployed at least at /k/, to avoid brand/stylefags starting a shitposting spree.
>>328058
To be fair, no-one watched Angel's Egg in Japan either.
Be the change you want to be. Call out everyone who asks for recs on /a/. Report the posts. Don't let the threads continue unmolested.

ikr? I cant even tell any difference between /a/, crunchyroll, and MAL now
Just watch anime and give no shits about "muh community".

Not the op, but that's the difficult part irl. Anime is fun to watch and fun to talk about.
However I don't either want to talk to people who are watching Texhnolyze simply because they are so proud of their skill to write that anime name correctly.

Weird, I don't like talking about anime in general. Watching is really fun though.
I guess I've been bullied into submission at this point haha
There's nowhere OP, but I feel you. I feel like /a/ has slid in quality by a whole lot. Way too many casuals on the board now and people don't even get banned anymore for admitting they are a newfag.
I've been shopping around for a better community but I can't find one. AB's IRC and forums are cliquey garbage. All the major fansub IRC hangouts are just full of lurkers and mouthbreathers. I'm not cool enough to get invited to the private ones. I even tried seeing if reddit's anime board had decent discussion but it's basically a watered down version of /a/ with 200% more recommendation threads, I can't even imagine what kind dullard would find that entertaining when /a/ can barely hold my attention these days.

People got banned for saying they're new?
>>328919
Yes, if they were being particularly obnoxious. Or if you were a narutard. God I miss when just posting naruto threads was enough to get you banned. You could talk about it after a fashion but narutards were so universally despised that if they got even a little bit uppity and started trying to make naruto discussion a regular thing they just got banned en masse. /a/ is so shitty these days, when Jojoniggers and Narutards and DB Super crossborders are allowed to have permanent threads on /a/.

I'll piggyback on this thread: can someone recommend a SERIAL anime that is decently made, isn't edgy/gory and has no embarrassing fanservice?
I like the Miyazaki movies, Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, etc. I've watched most of the well-known stuff like Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, FMA Brotherhood etc. so maybe something a little less popular?
