Could anyone recommend some self help books to me? I tried to google this, but I don't even know where to start.

I seem to have problems with everything- motivation, procrastination, career, relationships, health, life, lack of direction. Is there a general book to start with?

look OP, I know where you're at right now, i've been there, and a book isnt going to help you. You know what is however? You. You are the only person who can make things go better in your life. so let me start in order on what YOU need to do to make yourself a better person like you want to be
>motivation
it is as simple as just doing it. take those feelings of i dont want to etc, and throw them out the damn door, because they don't matter
>procrastination
Same advice for motivation. You have to force yourself to want it
>career
find something you like doing, now find something that is similar and pays you enough money to live on. Can't find one? Learn to like other things.
>Relationships
whether romantic or otherwise, a relationship is always a 2-way street, so yo cant force a relationship. What you can do, is find people who connect with you, and you connect with. Thats all i can give you because you can't generalize people
>Health
Well you might be inactive, etc, or sickly or have a few bad problems. If its somthing you can fix by changing your body and surrondings, do so, if not, deal with it the best you can because life goes on anyways.
>Life
Live it, do something great and memorable. Or don't because who cares, in the end it was your life and your freedom to do whatever the hell you want with it
>Lack of Direction
It is possible to go in more then one direction at once as long as you dont overdue it. just do what makes you happy

Thanks to both of you for taking the time to write these, really. I screencapped them, so I can remember. This is the best help I've gotten on this site.

>You have to force yourself to want it
I can do it for a week, and then I fall back into old habits. It's like there's some switch I haven't flipped. That's why I thought a book might help change my thinking.

Lost in the Cosmos: The Last Self-Help book by Walker Percy

It was recommended reading by my philosophy professor. It isn't a self help book in the traditional sense...infact...it kinda pokes fun of self help books. But it forces you to question you...your life...and the human condition. Which inturn makes you live deliberately rather than passively.

At any rate, in a roundabout way it helped me with my PTSD. It might help you too. If nothing else it's a fun read.
