I'm looking for animes/manga where the MC did something terrible (on purpose or by mistake) that leads him/her to be in search of forgiveness.
Already read Koe no Katachi and Onanie Master Kurosawa
Casshern Sins
Rurouni Kenshin

>Casshern Sins
I'll check it out
>Rurouni Kenshin
Havent seen most episodes, but I thought Kenshin just wanted to have a new start. I didnt feel he was looking for forgiveness.

Fullmetal Alchemist, the original anime. Seconding Rurouni Kenshin.
Vagabond, Real(by takehiko inoue)
Rainbow, its a show about five guys in a prison in the 50s, the first 13 episodes are very much like shawshank
Vinland Saga. The mood turnaround is often compared to what Vagabond does.
Blade of the Immortal, though admittedly the search for redemption isn't given a whole lot of emphasis. It's more like just a premise.

The remake of Gaiking if you do not mind it aimed at kids.

>the original anime
The manga/brotherhood handle the redemption theme much better. 2003 doesn't really resolve that issue.

ya idk why someone would wanna watch the original
but mean they're both worth watching
i guess i would watch that first so brotherhood would be even more enjoyable
