Is this worth 879$
No.

Damn. not OP but I think it's pretty good. What makes you say it isn't?

>GeForce 940MX
This is a laptop from before this year's renaissance in GPUs, that they're trying to fob off on an unsuspecting buyer.
shitty graphics card (940m with 2gb ddr3 to drive a 4k display? integrated might have same or even better performance)
$500~600 tops imofamalamdingdong

no, i got a 4k touch inspiron 7559 with 6700k, gtx 960m on for $729
>>317110
>4k res on 15.6
>last gen GPU
I'd say wait for GTX 1000 laptop series with reasonable resolution.
>>317260
>>4k res on 15.6
That's 270DPI, which is retina.
>>317274
Doesn't matter its retina or not.
With that specs OP wouldn't be able to play 4k videos smoothly let alone playing games at 4k30fps or even 1440p.
Its a waste putting a 4k screen on laptop if you don't have the hardware to support it.
>Intel U-series processor

>won't be able to play 4k videa
Sure he will: both 9x0 and Kaby Lake have hardware 4k decoding, and Kaby Lake is compatible with the DRM requirements of Netflix 4k.

Make sure you check the Lenovo Outlet before buying any of their products, i've gotten great deals on open box/refurb products there that nobody could beat, not even ebay scammers. And the refurbs are done in-house by lenovo, the products are like new.

They're not "like new", but they do come with a new battery and a warranty.
Last outlet one I got had scratches on the lid. Which I don't care about, but it's damage a "like new" one wouldn't have.
>>317322
Weird, i've bought 3 refurbs from them and one open box, all had the plastic on and literally were "like new"
>>317331
Lucky you, I guess.
I bought a refurb and it was clearly a refurb. Which was unsurprising, seeing as a refurb was what I bought.
There was nothing that impeded its functionality, and a few scratches to the glittery thinkpad gelcoat was probably worth saving $300. After a year or so the keyboard wore out, but it's a Thinkpad so big whoop, $50, two screws. If it'd failed three months earlier it'd be replaced under warranty.
So it was $250 cheaper with a few cosmetic blemishes. But a refurb it was, and "like new" it was not.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that, OP, if you see a listing for a refurb and pay for a refurb and they send you a refurb, there's a chance you will get a refurb.
