Ok, so my girlfriend used to mock anine until i finally made her watch Death Note...and she saw the entire anime in two days...
I'm not a big anime fan, so i wonder if you guys can recommend me similiar/good mature animes
Welcome to the NHK is really good.

Try focusing on things that have universal themes and values as opposed to focusing on unique themes to a country, I can think of the whole Ghibli studio movies, and the anime rendition of some world classics, I myself was infatuated with NHK ni Youkoso but I knew a great deal about Japanese culture and the NEET problem they have, so I could put stuff into perspective.
I can think of mindless fun anime as a mild start point, like for example FLCL, twisted story telling series are grabbing too like Durarararararararara~ra~ra~ra, or totally unsuspected gems such as Wings of Honneamise,
Tear jerkers pack quite the emotional impact, like for example clannad, graphically over polished anime and eye porn can totally make you into anime, I have in mind Eve no Jikan, I think this one has a dub, or 5 cm per second, and anything made by that director, he has put out a movie recently called Kimi No Na Wa.

If you're looking for high impact anime that draw you into a fantastic story early and don't let go, much like Death Note:
>Erased
>Attack on Titan
>Madoka Magica
>Your Name
>Parasyte
>Code Geass
>Another
These are more down to earth, normal stuff but have intriguing plot points or characters
>Hyouka
>Kaiji
>Ping-pong
>My Teen Romantic Comedy is Wrong as Expected
These are also very good but they develop more slowly
>Psycho-pass
>Steins;Gate
Be wary of recommendations of early 90's anime, Evangelion and maybe Cowboy bebop are ok, but there's also a lot of weaboo nostalgia from back when they could only get what was offered on VHS at the local suncoast. So if you want to turn someone off anime for good go ahead and show them Lain, FLCL or Akira. Also, stay away from Clannad, maybe it gets good in its later episodes but no girl is gonna sit through 13 episodes of harem shit.

"Your name" was a megahit not just in japan but all asia, it's probably a good bet.

Man how could I forget to factor in the fact that it is for a girl~~ sigh

This is totally in line with what you're seeking, I watched most of the stuff listed here, and I can attest for at least:
- Your Name (stuff seen from both the guy's and girl's point of view, I suppose you can enjoy watching it the both of you), Parasyte (if you don't mind the weird concept), Code geass (really well put together), Hyouka (puzzles, puzzles, and more puzzles in high spirit and good fun), and then there is Eden of the east deep stuff with a light tone and great execution.
>>308434 is totally right about nostalgia, but you know, people can't be objective about their likes especially stuff from childhood and early teens when they still didn't develop any critical thinking/sense.
ghibli films, top 40 stuff
there's no need to swamp her with 4chan's "refined" taste
that would be like asking /v/ for video games to play. the actual answer is just overwatch and league because thats what your friends play.

Haibane Renmei

>there's no need to swamp her with 4chan's "refined" taste
What, you don't think she'll like Ergo proxy? It's on everyone's 3x3!

Perfect example right here; Haibane Renmei is indeed among my favorites, but it's not a suitable recommendation in this situation.
