try making an amazon recommended list + search for the names on gen.lib.rus.ec (it directs to multiple mirror sites i prefer the libgen.me option + click where it says get pdf)

This general collection has a boatload of children's books:
mega://#F!51Q0waSI
Key: !4Ut-eePQr9YSjHJJTQs7Ew
Particularly the "Western Authors" subfolder.
You'll have to curate it yourself author by author though. But I've used it go give GBs of children's ebooks to my sister (for her daughter) and my elementary school-aged cousins before.

Or, you know what? I just went over it a bit, and listed what might be appropriate. I'm most likely missing a bunch, but this should last you for a while:
From the Western Authors folder:
Agatha Christie (Detective fiction: Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple)
Brothers Grimm
Charles Dickens
Ellen Raskin (Detective fiction: The Westing Game, The Tattoed Potato)
H.G. Wells
Hans Christian Andersen
J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter), I guess. Delete the non-HP books.
J.M. Barrie (Peter Pan)
J.R.R Tolkien (Lord of the Rings)
Jill Murphy (The Worst Witch. I'd highly recommend this one for kids of all ages)
L. Frank Baum (The Wizard of Oz)
L.M. Montgomery (Anne of Green Gables)
Lewis Carrol (Alice in Wonderland)
Mark Twain
Neil Gaiman (just Coraline. Delete the rest)
P.D. James (Detective fiction: Adam Dalgliesh)
P.G. Wodenhouse, maybe? I wouldn't call Jeeves & Wooster a children's series, but I wouldn't be against children reading it either.
Rex Strout (Detective fiction: Nero Wolfe)
Roald Dahl
Rudyard Kipling (The Jungle Book)
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Detective fiction: Sherlock Holmes)
T.H. White (The Sword in the Stone)
Tove Jansson (the Moomins)
From the Frog Autors folder:
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (The Little Prince)
Jules Verne
Maurice LeBlanc (Detective/gentleman thief fiction: Arsene Lupin)
I also noticed how I'm missing C.S Lewis, Lemony Snicket and Roald Dahl folders. I could have sworn I had uploaded all 3 of them, most vividly the Roald Dahl one. I remember even ordering my Roald Dahl folder with both children fiction and adult fiction subfolders, and even added some interesting biographies like the Jennet Conant one... oh well. It should be burnt in some DVD or another, I guess.
Will most likely upload them later today.

Thanks a lot, I am going to be busy after work
Alright. C.S. Lewis (Narnia), Lemony Snicket (A Series of Unfortunate Events) and Roald Dahl (Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Witches et al) uploaded.
Wonder why I never uploaded them. They were in two DVDs I'd burned I think last year.
