Any good books about drawing anime/manga ? I prefer japanese translated to english.
I can't find anything on /ic/, so I'll ask here.

I can't suggest any books because I can't draw anything properly. But.
Please become outstanding and come up with an great unique style to draw eyes. Some of the best (selling) manga artists also draw the best and most fitting eyes for their characters. Also some of the sexiest unique hentai artists draw incredible eyes.
I am not an eye fetishist, I don't bukkake on stuff I read. It's just something that has caught my attention over time. This is I think pretty much one of those undeniable things for longevity for art.
I can't remember who said this, but it went something like this:
>At first you have to stuff realism as much as you can in your art. That makes it interesting. Then you have to add exactly the right amount or reality in your art. That makes it alive.

Eyes are a given, since that's basically the driving force in expressing emotions in anime/manga.
Your quote can be summed up as "Learn the rules before you break them" which is what anyone and everyone will say if you ask them where to start.

I'm the one you answered to.
Yes and Sorry, I have no place to say because I can't do it myself. All I can do is to admire the work of others.

you don't even need to know jap just learn some drawings fundamentals first. the way mangakas learn to draw is by copying the drawings from the authors they like

You should try it sometime. Really makes the experience more intimate.
