So, I was recommended this series. In which order do I watch it?

Fate/stay night is a VN with 3 routes: Fate, Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven's Feel. F/Z is a prequel written after the release of F/SN that indirectly spoils some of the twists revealed in the 3rd route of the VN which hasn't been adapted yet. The current adaptations are DEEN's Fate/Stay Night and their Unlimited Blade Works movies, ufotable's TV adaptation of Unlimited Blade Works and an adaptation of the light novel prequel Fate/Zero. DEEN's adaptations are
widely regarded as terribly flawed and not worth watching. ufotable's Unlimited Blade Works adaptation is regarded as more faithful to the source material and adapts only one route of the VN but IMO the story Unlimited Blade Works route is pretty crappy.

The "correct" way to watch only the anime series would be ufotable's Unlimited Blade Works and then F/Z, but you're still being spoiled on the twists that occur in the 3rd route. The 3rd route is being adapted into a 3-part movie series later this year but there'll be no way to watch them until months later most likely.

So you can do one of the following:
>watch Unlimited Blade Works by ufotable then watch Fate/Zero (but spoil yourself on a twist in Heaven's Feel)
>play all routes of the VN and then watch F/Z
>watch UBW, play the Fate and Heaven's Feel routes, then watch F/Z
>watch UBW, wait a couple years for ufotable to adapt the Heaven's Feel route, and then watch F/Z

Zero->UBW->HF is the most recommended order if you're watching it.

Nasu is a fucking hack and the "twist" that's "spoiled" is much better done in Zero and improves your enjoyment of the actual routes if you understand it going in.

Also due to Nasu's hackness, don't read the VN.
