Why haven't you watched the Haruhi movie yet? Also you should continue watching the Monogatari series as it only gets better if you liked Bake.

watched all of it except the newest one. it was really good and i liked it but im kind of tired of monogatari right now. ill watch the haruhi movie but right now i would like to watch an anime series. thanks for the reply

anything from ghibli in particular you'd recommend?
>>301365
Oh, if you're looking for a series then try Ping Pong the Animation.

I really like Nausicaa, Totoro, Ponyo and Kaguya.

I'm not 100% sure what someone means when they say comfy because everyone has their own definition for it, but here's some cute/funny/relaxed stuff I like:
K-On!
Cardcaptor Sakura
Binchou-tan
Ore Monogatari!!
Barakamon
Sweetness & Lightning (Amaama to Inazuma)
I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying (Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken)
Wakako-zake
Gugure! Kokkuri-san
I also recommend FLCL. I hesitate to call it either comfy or intellectual, but it's my favorite and I generally recommend it to everyone.

The Aquarion trilogy! Also give Zegapain, Claymore, and Shin Mazinger Z a chance.

Mecha, like any subgenre, is just a matter of perspective. You liked Eva, right? Try Gunbuster, it's the same director as Eva and is similarly dense thematically, though much shorter. It also has a sequel, Diebuster, but it's radically different from the first one in most ways. Incidentally, Diebuster is from the same director as FLCL, so if you watch FLCL and like it, Diebuster may interest you too. You have to watch Gunbuster first though or most of the meaning in Diebuster will be lost.
Also, depending on why you liked Code Geass, Valvrave the Liberator might have what you're looking for.
Also that guy recommends Aquarion in every single anime rec thread regardless of how much it fits what OP is looking for. If you gave Gurren Lagann a 4 you probably won't like Aquarion or Shin Mazinger.

well what i really meant is that mecha is not what iam looking for right now. i dont hate mecha and try to avoid every mecha show, but its really not a subgenre i can really invest myself in. regardless i will keep Gunbuster in mind because it does seem interesting. thanks for the suggestion
