>play, pressing record to start and stop the recording
>convert/save
>choose new source file (now on desktop/etc)
>profile Video VP80 + Vorbis (webm)
>edit profile
>audio tab (no audio)
>video tab, to play with bitrate and scale for filesize purposes
>remember to set output filename

You're right, VLC is shit for this. What do you use? I just tried installing Xmedia Recode and it won't fucking run for some reason.

It automatically converts a video to webm and makes sure the file size doesn't go over 3mb. Doesn't seem to support audio, so if you want a sound webm, use something else
