Hey guys. My dad brought home this weird magnetic phone stand for your car. I tested it, and then went on. When my phone died from low battery, I tried charging it, but nothing happened. I couldn't start it up, it didn't show any lights, no haptics, nothing. So /wsr/, what do?

OP/ hey guys, I managed to recover it. Lost everything, and had to install new OS, but I managed. Thanks anyway

glad to hear you managed

For posterity, what phone was it and what you do?

did you just use a 2a charger instead of a 1a on a totally dead battery

That is never an issue, because the "2A" in describing chargers tells you what it can do, not what it always does.
If a "2A" charger forced two amps into your phone, then the "13A" mains socket would force thirteen amps into your charger, and the "150A" mains feed would force a hundred and fifty amps into your house.
