I would like to create a logo for a presentation of a project that revolves around the Y-axis. Two different motifs should be displayed on both sides of the rotating logo. I have tried my luck already with GIMP, but I failed miserably at the attempt and now looking for a new program or someone who can give me the necessary tips to create such a GIF.
you're gonna need to use a program like after effects.

Photoshop is also good for gifs I think

What kind of troubles did you have with gimp?

The problem is that I do not want to buy those programs

I do not get it there that the object turns on the Y-axis.

Pirate it.
gimp is an image editor, not a 3d editor, get wings3d or(/and) blender, model the object you want, animate it and export the animation in png/bmp, then make a gif in gimp with said image sequence
