My girlfriend needs some help with a relatively simple photo-edit for a finals project, I said i'd help but its been so many years since i've touched any photoediting programs i've forgotten everything so i'm turning to you lovely people.
What we need is, a picture of two hands shaking, but a puzzlepiece of where the hands meet taken out, and the removed jigsaw piece as a standalone picture file.
The puzzlepiece needs to be able to fit 657 symbols in it, and include a bit of both the persons fingers from the lower part of the picture.
I hope my explanation was not too vague.

I didn't really understand your explanation, but here's my attempt.
I assume there's going to be an essay or something on the separate piece, hence the "657 symbols" so I left some space on the second one.

Yeah true, but OP also said he needs "symbols" on the piece, which would be hard to do on just a single piece. Unless he doesn't mind drawing them over the hands, but that can be hard to read.
Would be helpful if he gave us a drawing of what he wanted it to look like.
