I just bought a new HP 15 Inch Omen and the curser stops moving when I press keys. I tried disabling smart sense from synaptics touchpad but I still cant move the cursor after touching the keyboards.
How do I fix this?
Check for a feature called Palm Check, lower it all the way

My laptop is newer and has smart sense instead. Palm check is no where on it. When I lower the setting smart sense; it still locks my cursor while typing.
My specific omen model is the 15 inch. Newly bought too so its most likely 2017 edition. Not sure where to find my model number.

my synaptics pointing device is version 19.3.11.37

If someone knows how to downgrade this software to a version that is compatable with typing and moving cursor at the same time; that could help me too.

Oh, my laptop is a few years old and my synaptics is only version 7.2, a lot of games were near impossible to play due to it disabling the mouse for a few seconds upon pressing a key, until i disabled PalmCheck, but I guess they've gotten rid of it.
What are all the options you have available to you? My settings look like this

Excuse the phone posting; didnt want to take the time to edit via paint

And pic two of two
Everyone is telling me to disable smart sense but as you can see I already did that. And still cant type and move cursor.

All that opens up is momentum, edge motion, and accessibility. Smart sense is the palm sense thing in this version.

Oh yeah, that looks very similar to the PalmCheck setting on this version, I've got no ideas Anon, sorry
