Having trouble installing C++ 2005 x86

ok so ive tried pretty much what all there forums are saying EXCEPT a reinstall of window i really dont wanna have to do that error 1935 is thew error im getting BTW

i can install C++ 2005 x64 just fine but not x86

Get a less dodgy copy of the game you're trying to pirate.

although those files should shit with the game binaries, you can just copy the runtime files to windows\system32. open the installer with 7zip or something, there should be 2 or 3 dlls there

meh, while i was at it i extracted it (7zip isnt enough, then you need to extract the msi inside), turns out its msvcp/msvcr 80
in this link you can find the viru... err... the 2 files to paste inside system32 or alongside the executable you are trying to run

i just had the exact same problem because of skype

i cleaned out the software distribution folder
ran tweaking.com portable in safe mode
and chkdsk /f /r c: in command prompt
and now the updates are working again
