tl;dr: paying for 100mb/s down, getting .1mb/s down, time warner. forced to use wifi, please help
Although I'm the tech one of the house, I'm not allowed to pay for anything regarding internet but I'm allowed to recommend things. 1800 square feet. Time Warner, I need it to be wireless. Any recommendations?
Buy a wi-fi range extender. In the UK the NetGear range is reliable
With Wi-fi you will never get 100mb/s down, only on Ethernet

You have to be 18 to post here.

Yet there are people who "allow" you to "recommend" things.
This is not the way adults behave in their household.

I use comcast, but basically i pay for 100mb and i was getting 20. I called them and told them about the problem, they only boosted it a little.
Here's the trick: tell them you're using ethernet, even if you're not. They'll keep boosting your internet from their end until you receive at least 50-70mb/s down (which is what you should get on wifi). When you get to 50-70 range, tell them you're getting the full 100 and they fixed your problem.
TL;DR: Call time warner and complain a lot until they boost your internet speed

Not OP, but I'm in the same situation and I'm 21. Being in college sucks

Your university "allows you to recommend things"?
