Thunderbolt is laughably trite. If you want a genuinely grim Gundam series, Zeta or Victory are the way to go. Although watching Zeta requires 0079 viewing beforehand.

Texhnolyze is heavy to watch and heavy to digest, not just on anime standards, but visual media in general.
