The polynomial creation one is easy. You know that if you had an equation like (x-2)(x+3)(x-4)=0 you'd have the roots x=2, -3, 4. You'd also know that the highest degree for x is 3. For the comlex numbers, if you had a term x^2-1=0, your roots would be 1 and i. After you get the factored form you can just expand it to get your polynomial.
