Let me start off by saying I am not an expert, someone else might be able to give yo a better answer.


That type of background is called a screentone.

Since they are usually made for manga, many are in black and white and will require you to color them in (with Photoshop).

Search google and deviantart for:
1. "shoujo manga screentones"

2. Deleter screen (Deleter is a company that makes them)
