Hey guys.
I want to create a nice bash script to do something pretty amazing but easy.
I want to create an "engine" for Visual Novels, without the image part.
We could call it "Not-So-Visual-But-More-Chatty Novel".
Dumb name huh? Yeah, i know.
Thing is, i will release it on git, but i want to do it so, instead of having to "script" the whole story, it will parse a normal txt file.
Sounds cool right? Yeah.
Well, anyway, i need someone to brainstorm with on how to handle it and how to structure it.
Will ya help me?
Here are my first thought about it:
- It has to have a chapter subdivision
- It needs to support special characters, but avoid injection of malicious code in it
- Save games? I've come up with how to name them, not what to actually write in them
Let's go guys
It sounds like interactive fiction to me.

You may want to look up such things as Inform. It allows you to code a game in a script that reads a lot like normal English.

>Inform

OP here, i want to make it rather than find something premade.
I'm learning bash since 4 month ago by myself, i want to do it to improve my bash scripting skill

Jesus fucking fuck.
1) this is not what Bash is for
2) this thing already exists and is called renpy

Some way to change font or colors would be an improvement
Music and sound effects would also be a good idea
