Hey /wsr/, can you recommend some artistic (inb4 autistic) anime? With artistic I don't necessarily mean high resolution and mega modern animations but good (or special) compositions, colours, pictures, cuts etc.
Some examples I already watched:
Monogatari Series (this one is clear) and anything else made by Shaft (Mekaku City Actors, Katanagatari etc)
Tatami Galaxy (very unique and pleasant artstyle)
Ping Pong the Animation (this one is kinda ugly at first sight but the artstyle matches perfectly with the story also the Ping Pong matches are very pleasant to watch, almost trippy)
Tekkon Kinkreet (whoa)
Mononoke (ok I didn't like it THAT much but it's very special in its artstyle)
Aku no Hana
If you know something that's not artistic but trippy feel free to recommend it too.

Gankutusou
Concrete Revolutio
(Katanagatari isn't by Shaft)

Oh, you're right, shame on me.

Flip flappers?
Tsuritama
Mawaru Penguindrum
Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita
madoka magica, while having generally pretty shitty animation for the characters and real world, has some really cool visuals going when they're fighting witches. also a VERY different take on the magical girl genre

Actually serious
>Are you getting paid for this
Nope, jut a fan spreading the win
>I've never ever heard anything good about this series
It's a buried treasure

>I've never ever heard anything good about this series (quite the opposite actually)
You take ANN reviews seriously? It's been repeatedly proven they have no idea what they're talking about.
>>269295
Definitely redline
Trippy and beautiful and really well animated

I've never read anything by ANN, at least not consciously. An /m/ friend of mine warned me not to watch it, another friend as well, and on the site I am mostly using it is at an abysmal rank of 6000+, much worse than most hentai.

But since it is community based it can be terribly off at times, so I'll give your Aquarion a chance. I hope you didn't lied to me, anon.

Seconding that, Redline has amazing visuals.
Oh also, any particular watch order on Aquarion things, or just logos?
Mamoru Oshii anime like Gosenzo-sama Banbanzai.

Genesis then Evol then Logos, there's also a two episode retelling OVA for Genesis but save that for after seeing the TV series

>I hope you didn't lied to me, anon.
I didn't, but be forewarned, Aquarion is not a "jump in and expect everything up front", it's one of those slow burn anime.
Dead leaves and mind game are both pretty out there artistically. And since they're movies, you can easily pick one up.
