Quick question for all you /g/entlemen out there: where and how did you all learn programming? Which language did you start with?
And most importantly, how can I teach myself C++?

If you start with C without knowing the basics of programming and related stuff you're in for a rough ride. You can read a book on C and then move to C++, just read books or shit. The Deitel books are very good at presenting it in a simple way.

I meant to say "If you start with C++" by the way.

You were right anyway tho.
Start with a managed language like Python or C# , then move onto a manual language like C or C++ if you actually need to.

As an autist who doesn't go outside, how long will it take to get myself to a C++ level from the bottom?

I also recommend this approach.
Python would be the best language for beginners and you would be able to have a job right away by knowing the basics.
C# would be the best choice if you want to be certified and work for Microsoft Companies.
Start with Python.

having no concepts of programming, I'd say a month. I'd say learn Java instead of C++ so that you would prime yourself to become an android developer.
