Hi, Sierra mac here with a question.
With 3 GB of storage left, I started having problems with my finder(sidebar not showing, force quitting didnt help).
But I restarted the mac itself, I suddenly had 23 GB of space.
What happened?
Disk Utilities First Aid came up with nothing.
Probably some temporal files were deleted when you shuted down the computer. There's an UNIX directory that stores temporal data until you restart de PC: /tmp/
Oh, I see. Thanks.

Even 23 GB is not enough free space to do general computing. Delete or move some of your stuff (large video files, mainly, I'm guessing) to an external HDD.

Phones can't do computing.
You heard it here first, folks.
Also no computing was done before 2005.

Reindex spotlight perhaps as well, may not be 100% warranted, but can't hurt
