my wireless optical mouse has problems dragging/highlighting stuff. this thing is only a year old... is there anything i can do to fix it? google hasn't helped so far and there are no screws to open the bottom.
change the battery

replace these buttons

like i said, there are no screws at the bottom. seems to be glued and isn't easy to pull apart. should i force it open? :\

open battery compartment. rip out label stuck inside. remove screw. pull off top.

oh thanks i didn't know that's where it was! it looks like this on the inside. there was a bit of dust so i cleaned it but it still gets stuck when i try to drag anything. it's just the left click that's broken btw. you're saying i need to replace this black box thing?

if you don't use the middle button, just swap them.
>>254595
no middle button because the wheel's connected to the right click instead. i put some tape between the box and the clicker and that seemed to fix it. i guess it was missing a few micrometers of reach? anyway thanks a lot for the help. :)

its wearing out. eventually it will stay stuck down. you need to replace it.

i don't have an old mouse to get parts from. could i just adjust the metal spring inside? do i need to remove the switch from the base?
