Hey guys,
Do you know if an AppleCD 300e Plus would be compatible with a Macintosh SE with 4 MB of RAM running System 6.0.8? Also, could you burn CDs on a modern computer for use with this drive?
Bump
You'll have to figure out if you have Apple's CDROM drivers installed. Apple's drivers only handle Apple-branded CDROM drives and ISO filesystems.
There's also a "CD Sunrise" driver which supports HFS instead.

Ok. I've heard that 6.0.8 supports drivers for AppleCD branded CD drives, I'm more hoping that the drive is backwards compatible, considering that my computer was made in 1988 and the drives were made in 1994-95. Also do you know if a passive SCSI terminator be necessary?

If the OS supports it, it'll deal with the CDROM drive. It obviously won't boot from it.
I would guess you need a terminator, if it doesn't work you can take it off.

OK, that's what I thought. Thanks!
