Up until now i used AVG, but lately it's acting funny and slow. So maybe it's time to move on other antivirus software. (Or maybe it's just needs a reinstall)

kek
two reasons why i don't use linux
-we are using 1 computer so for the others it will cause only headache
-too lazy too search my apps for a linux version.
desu if i would be the only user, they wouldn't even need a firewall

Too bad you share the computer, but maybe is a good idea to install Linux alongside windows for security precautions. Many people do this thing called dualboot which is to install Linux without removing windows, so when a problem surge they can easily fix it.
I did that until windows stopped working, and you know what, didn't bother on fixing it. Never looked back.
At least research on live usb for emergencies. Many technicians use Linux to fix computers. As for the tools, check this https://ghostbin.com/paste/zf6af
Good luck with the anti virus.

I won't be a dick like the other guy
Personally I like avast free
AVG is good as well but the constant upgrade to paid does my head in
If your comp isn't great use panda free nice and lite and does the job
Alternatively use bit defender free also lite and does a good job, but personally I can't vouch for
the free microsoft antivirus
