New to anime, mostly only watched them as a kid
Looking for anime that are serious and not too cartoony.
tl;dr:
>liked Erased
>liked Kids on the Slope
>tried watching Re:Zero but couldn't make it through the first episode.
>looking for anime with well written, authentic characters that feel real
Thanks!

>couldn't make it through the first episode.
The three episode rule exists for a reason.

nah, I didn't like the tone, why should I sit through a whole hour of it?

Because it almost universal that people can have first impressions/thoughts/feelings/vibes that can completely turn around after getting into something turning into one of their most cherished things. From being in a bad place and projecting it into a show to being put off from a theme that correlates with pain in real life. I have personally hated shows for months only to come back with an open mind and fallen head over heels in love.

Not a series, but a film ... The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
Not a film, but a series ... Steins;Gate
Don't like time travel? Too bad, both of these are worth watching.

Eh, maybe I'll revisit it at some point but I'm pretty sure that that's not the case in this case.

Tried the first episode to almost all these.
Ping pong is the only one I didn't have problems with, but I'm not terribly interested. Will go through with it though.
