Does anybody have a VHS torrent or download for Pokémon 2000? It needs to have all the trailers/Ads that were in the VHS as well as the Pikachu short.
Thanks in advance if anybody can find it.
>>
>>234471
you're probably better off buying a vhs copy of it, should be super cheap nowadays if you can find one, I don't think anyone did go out of their way to upload a vhs version online
>>
>>234471
I could possibly rip it for you if you can't find it.
>>
>>234597
That would be awesome if you did.

Long ago, in the ancient times, the grand mages recorded their tales on little black box's talled "VHS Tapes". Inside ther was a strange material, that looked like black tape. On either end was a real, but what lay ont he tape was what peopel considered most importiant. Music, movies, instructions galore. Tales of fantasy, story's of hope, plays of lost and sorry. All could be found on these little black devices. But, on rare occasions, they were a variety of color's. Though, that is a tale for another time....

How do you even rip a VHS? Just plug in the composite cable into the microphone and a VGA adapter and use some software?

Not OP, so don't take it out on him, but you've not done the IVTC right.

You're getting blended frames from combining the fields incorrectly; blended frames interfere with the way modern video compression works by storing the differences between it and its neighbours, and take up a load of bits that could be improving the quality of the whole video.

If you've still got the raw capture, have a play about with IVTC settings until you get clean progressive video. If there's live-action adverts or trailers, you might have to use different IVTC settings for them and for the movie.
>>
>>235249
Best quality is a capture card from the same era.

But anything with a composite video input will do, as VHS basically writes the demodulated RF TV signal (which is basically what composite video is) straight onto the tape as an analogue signal. S-video, for instance, is no advantage, because the chroma signal is intermingled with the luma signal in the recording on the tape.
>>
>>235252
How exactly do i do that? I think it might be a problem with the device I'm using an EZ Grabber but I can't even find a picture of the model I have of it online. Would it be possible the tape or VCR could also cause the problem?

>>235249
I have a device to connect the VCR to pc through USB. I also have a setup I'm working on to record from PC to the VCR but can't get the computer to recognize it correctly.
>>
>>235271
Apparently your device automatically does its own (incorrect) IVTC, but if you save the video using a lossless codec like HuffYUV or Lagarith, you can then pull the frames back apart and put them back together correctly.

Here's what looks like a guide for your exact grabber: http://www.engon.de/audio/vhs0_en.htm . It looks like it steps you through the process of capturing, deinterlacing, and then encoding with x264.
>>
>>235271
>I'm working on to record from PC to the VCR but can't get the computer to recognize it correctly.
Best and simplest way to do this is with an original Xbox and XBMC.

Xbox has TV/composite/SCART out, hook that up to the VCR, hit record then play the video.

Make sure to set your Xbox to the video format you want to record: if you tell it it has an NTSC TV connected, it'll produce an NTSC tape, and so on.
>>
>>235280
I'll look into this but I'll still post the version I already have as well

>>235285
I know through a console would work but if I could get it to work with PC it would be a great setup for my desk. I have a setup to go through a wii which really sucks and one to use DVD -> VHS but it ends up having a stutter somewhere in the video every time that I'd have to edit out each time.

different guy from OP and I have a stupid question but...
Is it legal to download shit from this website? Can my ISP see it/do anything about it?
I've never pirated anything before in my life so I'm a dumbass
>>
>>235847
The website is irrelevant in it. It's what you download. Plus it's not even hosted on here. If the MEGA link got taken down BY the company that owns pokemon 2000 you COULD POSSIBLY get a letter but the copyright holder would most likey just send a warning telling you to delete it. They can't see who you are just the IP address. Then the ISP passes it along to you. It varies from ISP to ISP though. It's really unlikely though either way and even less likely because the link was only ever posted here and I don't think they would care that much about a bad VHS rip to do more than take it down.

Basically don't worry you'll be fine just don't be dumb.
>>
>>235858
does it matter if I download through my browser or through megasync

I use an EZGrabber but I'm pretty sure there are a lot of other better ones as well. You could also get a VHS to DVD box. It's pretty simple and fun to do also.
>>
>>236260
i was looking for something a bit on the cheap side so EZGrabber might be for me. Are you able to use it with different capture software or do you just use the built in one?

Yea no problem.; What are you going to rip?
>>
>>236265
some genres that i love seeing in crummy vhs quality like kung fu and old kaiju/monster movie tapes.

And then just like the weird stuff you find at thrift stores like "kid safety with gary coleman" & 1970s sports bloopers.
Just stuff like that
>>
>>236262
>>236261
see >>235280

Having actually read through it, it's a really comprehensive guide. tl;dr is you use any old software to rip an incorrectly-deinterlaced version and save it as lossless, then you do another lossless-->lossless pass where you fix the interlacing, chroma bleed, horizontal timing, etc., then finally you encode the second lossless just as if you were doing a DVD or BD.

If you're ripping those weird thrift stuff, upload it to myspleen. The guy who normally does that stuff hasn't uploaded that content for a while.

That's what I rip mostly as well. Sadly my goodwill seems to only put out regular movies and anything else is never out there anymore.
