I am looking for entertaining light novels or books with Necromancers as main characters (or at least part of the main cast).
General evil mage is also okay.
So far I've read Overlord, Seoul Station's Necromancer and Emperor of Solo Play. I liked Overlord the most by far.
I also tried The Experimental Log of the Crazy Lich, but I could not find a decent translation.
Alternative: Other LNs/Books in which the mc either is, or gets reincarnated into some evil being or monster, such as Slime-sama or Re:Monster.
bedtime bump, have a nice night
No love for Necros/Evil Mages?

Michael Moorcock's "The Knight of the Swords" involves a bit of bringing various folk back from the dead. it's not the main focus of the book, but, hey.
Pic related, the number of fingers on Corum's left hand is intentional.

Hm, doesn't seem to hit the spot, but thank you anyways. I'll put in int the backlog for now.
I've probably read too many traditional fantasy novels as a child, so light novels are preferred.

The Haunted Lands trilogy by Richard Lee Byers might be worth looking at id you're into forgotten realms.

That looks interesting, will definitely check that out. I only have very basic knowledge of dnd. But afaik Overlord is also heavily influenced by the mechanics, and since I enjoyed it a lot, this should work well. Thanks!
Neuromancer by William Gibson.

Ah, that is a good one, although I should have mentioned that I am mainly looking for either fantasy setting, or a gaming setting which uses fantasy elements.
The House with a Clock in Its Walls involves some necromancy and has some evil mages (and some non-evil ones). It's meant as a children's book but it's pretty good, better than most LNs I've read.

Oh my, that sounds like something that would've scared the shit out of child-me, even the title alone is enough to bring back a few traumatic nightmares.
I'll definitely read that one.
No nice light novels I missed?
