I suck at drawing.
Are there any apps for the iPhone that I can trace with? As in, put paper over my phone to trace pictures during work to pass time
Try turning up your brightness or putting your phone in shadow, then tracing over images in your gallery.
If you'd rather learn to draw, check out >>>/ic/ 's sticky.

Wouldn't the paper make my phone go crazy thinking its my finger? Thats the only reason I havent done rhat yet

Depends. It only senses objects that act like a capacitor, i.e. you, or any conductive object held by you.
Also carrots.
I'd be much more concerned that the display is made of gorilla glass, which can only be scratched by objects harder than gorilla glass, and ball pens have a ball made of tungsten, which is harder than gorilla glass.

I just registered what this said
Is there a safe pen I can use?
I have a screen protector, but better safe than sorry I guess

Anything that's billed as a stylus should be fine.
Screen protectors are like covering a tank with cake.
