What's up, /wsr/?
I recently got back into anime after a decent time off. Now I find that I want to watch anime but don't know what I want to watch. I'm looking for something dark, or mature at the very least.
Some shows I liked, but not necessarily in this order:
Madoka
High school DxD
JoJo
Watamote
Rosario to Vampire
Mirai Nikki
Steins;Gate
And it's worth mentioning that my favorite manga is Berserk, but I've heard the new adaptation was horrid, so let's ignore that one.
And of course, countless others, but those are the ones that I particularly enjoyed.
Thanks in advance.
What genre are you looking for? As far as sci-fi goes, I'll always recommend
Ghost in the Shell, both movies and tv series.
Serial Experiments Lain
Texhnolyze
Ergo Proxy (A lot of divisive opinions on this one, most agree it started off well and went way off the rails)
Bubble Gum Crisis
Armitage III (There are no I or II, it just named so)
Psycho Pass
Blue Gender
These should also fit your dark and mature criteria.

Already saw GitS, SEL, and Ergo Proxy, but I'll check out the others.
Still open to more recs, think I'll get a backlog going.
Thanks, again.

Give Armored Troopers VOTOMS a watch.
It's got a lot of fun mystery to it with the conspiracy stuff, and there's a great gritty utilitarian aesthetic to the design of its world and technology.
