A shooter good in shooting w/ long distance rifles we call a marksman.
A shooter good in shooting w/ pistols is a gunslinger.
How do we call one shooter who's capable at shorter distances, w/ sub machine guns or shotguns?
I want to name a class. Like a close-quarters shooter from a swat team.
Thanks.

Machine guns and shotguns aren't precision shooting weapons, so there's less a sense of mastery for using them. Marksman and gunslinger aren't really terms specific to a type of weapon by the way, they just refer to skilled shooters. But when you think of skilled shooters you think of people who can shoot with great accuracy, like a sniper or a hunter, or an impressive duelist who would use a pistol, hence why marksman and gunslinger have connotations for those types of weapons.
But if you want a name for a SWAT-esque operator then something like "Door-kicker" or "Vanguard" if they're meant to be an aggressive type, or maybe "Sweeper" if they're a supporting type (as is more typical of machine guns, which are mainly used for suppressing fire).

>shotguns aren't precision shooting weapons
That's what you get for learning all you know about shotguns from videogames fag.

>implying a shotgun slug can reliably hit anything smaller than a bus past 150 yards
And they are even more limited when it comes to regular shot. So eager to jump down somebody's throat you make an ass out of yourself.

Care to shift that goalpost a bit farther down the range? I can still hear the plinking from where you decided to set it.
