Started watching drifters digging the brutal samurai scenes.
Are there any more samurai anime that have good fight scenes and gore?
Shigurui Death Frenzy

Samurai Champloo
Sword of the Stranger
Samurai 7 (It was kind of mediocre, but maybe you'll enjoy it more than I did)
Afro Samurai?
House of Five Leaves?
Blade of the Immortal?
Rurouni Kenshin?
Question marks for anime I've heard good things about, but haven't actually watched and thus can't vouch for them. I think all of these are in some way what you're looking for. Some of them aren't as gory as Drifters though while others are on par with it.

Afro Samurai is like a fever dream of barely coherent story and crazy stylistic action. A cool way to burn an afternoon but I wouldn't call it memorable.
House of Five Leaves is not action. If you're looking for blood and violence this will bore you. A very good show though, if you're looking for something calmer and more slow paced.
Blade of the Immortal was mediocre as an anime, far better as a manga. Does fit the bill for being violent though. Would just recommend reading it rather than watching since they only did 13 episodes anyway.
Rurouni Kenshin is a shounen manga adaptation, so while there's fighting it's not the spectacularly bloody action of Kouta Hirano or other seinen action manga. It's more of a period piece set in the Meiji Era featuring superhuman swordsmen and a tragic love story. It's good for a shounen, but if you're looking for fast bloody action this isn't it.

Shiguri had a fair a mount of gore, though i don't remember that many fights, in the anime at least.
There is also Kurozuka from which the only thing i can remember is that it had a samurai, fights and gore.
