Hey guys, got a question to see if anyone else has any ideas what could be causing my laptop to fail at starting.
So it goes through POST fine, then the bios loads and takes a long time to do so, then after that when it tries to load the OS it just gets stuck on a black screen...
There are no reported issues when starting up, I can't get onto recovery from the bios as it does the same as loading the OS and I know the hard drive isn't having difficulty trying to start as I can head it spinning up.
I know there have been issues with the RAM before but this just feels weird.
Anyone got any ideas on what it could be or think my laptops just bricked at this point?
Sounds like it can't reach the hard drive to load the OS. Could be the hard drive itself, or the wires from hard drive to motherboard.

remove the ram and see if you can access the bios, if you dont want to do that try to access the boot menu and select your hard drive directly

I did check that, opened it up to look for lose cables and made sure the were fitted properly, might be faulty cables in between? Not too sure

Haven't tried taking the RAM out and back in, but even without doing that I can open the bios menu and can also chose the boot order and such and the hard drive is there and recognised, just doesn't seem to go any further than that
