I tried doing exactly what you're doing... got the same result (i use a dark theme, so it does not look good.)

I looked it up and it mentioned "rendering", i also see this talked about on /w/. I suppose "rendering" is supposed to remove these white objects?

If you want the background to be transparent, just ask for that. Everyone will understand what you mean.
