Doing extra credit work and the lesson videos are no help.
x= 45 degrees
>>208974
but HOW?
>>208973
because triangle angles always equal 180, and 90 is already given, so that means that there is 90 left, so divide 90 by two and you get x= 45
>>208975
look up pythagorem theorem
>>208974
>>208977
it was not 45
x = 38.7
>>208980
that's right,but HOW
https://www.khanacademy.org/math/basic-geo/basic-geometry-pythagorean-theorem/pythag-theorem/v/the-pythagorean-theorem
Simply draw the triangle and measure the angle. This is how engineers solved those types of problems all the time before computers were a thing.
Tan x = 8/10
Tan x = 0.8
x = 38.6598

shows me exactly what was in the lesson video, did not help.
sorry for being so retarded anons,i just want to understand.
i give up
>>209021
i did, i just dont know what to do with the decimal that i got.
>>209024
>i just dont know what to do with the decimal that i got.
Did you get 0.01396etc?
You have to use arctan, not tan.
>>209024
Do you have a scientific calculator . What make and model is it
>>209028
i got 0.8 like the other anon,i just dont know what to do with it.
You need to find what angle has a tan of 0.8
on the calculator press
2nd
Tan
.8
)
=
>>209047
huh would you look at that, its that easy.
thanks for your help lads, have a doggo!
>>209031
The arctan of 0.8 is 38.659
so the angle is 38.7 to the nearest tenth.
