If it's an SD card, flick the switch on the side.

Just use Gparted to delete the whole partition and create a new one. If it still doesn't work use Gparted to delete the partition table and create a new one.

have you tried changing the ownership of the drive? i had trouble deleting folders on my second drive once but once i change the ownership to myself, i was able to change the permissions and then i destroyed those summabiches
